With the desire to give opportunity to young women who are already with us and whom we are accompanying as well as those who are not yet acquainted with us, we decided to have an overnight ‘Search-in” with young ladies of college level and young professionals. We had it this past week end, November 24pm to November 25 after lunch that is Saturday & Sunday respectively.
There were fifteen (15) of them who responded to our invitation: three (3) were professionals and the rest were in their third, fourth and one in first year college. The theme of the encounter was “Lord, what do you want from me?”
In the evening after dinner, we had the activity on ‘Knowing themselves’, their names, address, etc., then prayer. The next was the activity on drawing and sharing their symbols of what is life for them, their symbol of joy and happiness, their desires and aspirations, their expectations of the ‘search-in’ and the symbol of themselves. Then, we ended the night with a prayer. The next day, we had the prayer, breakfast then the activity on the three (3) states of life: single, married and religious & missionary life. We also give them the tips on how to discern God’s will in their life. Then, we introduced and re-introduced to them the Congregation, our founders and the Laiko group that we are having this time, then the closing prayer.
Each one went home grateful for the opportunity and experience of being able to reflect, listen, pray and share their own experience of ‘searching’. Searching for meaning and purpose in life as well searching above all for the Will of God in their life; “Lord, what do you want from me?”
